Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella’s Opopnax fragrance has a single woody oriental note. The opoponax plant originated in Somalia. The Egyptians and Babylonians used it to fumigate and also to flavor wine. Opoponax resin is similar to that of myrrh: sweet, balsamic, spicy with fresh notes.
